Thermostat with foot to close the bypass when open. Offered to replace GTS118 and Suits all Stags.
Contains a thin gasket and a thick 1.6mm gasket. For extra gaskets buy GTG103
This First Line branded FTK010 88 degree Thermostat Kit ensures 85C is the minumum temperature the engine will run.
Thus in winter the engine will operate at an efficient heat, the fuel consumption will be optimised and the heater will be warm.
A L:OWER TEMPERATURE Thermostat WILL N OT MAKE an engine run cooler in summer.
In summer, the thermostats on Stags rarely close to regulate temperature as they do on other cars, and the temperature will go where it goes.
Only those components that limit upper temperatures will keep the car within limits, and even they are not always sufficient in under tropical conditions (36C and above with direct sunshine).
Running with no thermostat or a footless type can lead to overheating as the bypass then remains open sending hot coolant straight back into the engine.
The product offered here also has a jiggle pin to allow air to release when filling the cooling system. Mount this upwards.
