Header Tank Radiator Outlet BBHC38
|
|
This product allows you to connect low down into the Left Hand Radiator End Tank which may help a Header Tank work more efficiently.
The idea is to cut a hole ideally 13/16 or 21 mm into the radiator end tank.
Remove internal swarf with a magnet.
Then pass a piece of wire about 50 inches long through the top hose connection. The wire could be the copper earth wire out of a piece of old cable. The wire is pushed along until the end can be retrieved through the new hole.
Then slide the Tank connector, with a copper or aluminium washer [WF 550] down the wire nose first. It will go around the bend. It will drop down inside the end tank following the wire and the nose can be pulled through the hole.
Once the nose is through the nut can be applied but best to use a another Aluminium or copper 1/2 BSP washer to seal the joint.
A tool or other method will be required to hold the connector while the nut is tightened.
The connector has 3/8 BSP internal and 1/2 BSP External so a suitable coupler [Bent Tap Connector] is required to connect to equivalent heater hose.
Not for the faint hearted. If you wreck your radiator then we will not pay for a replacement. However any radiator shop could fit a soldered outlet if this DIY idea fails you.
